Information Technology Services, (ITS) announces Office 365 Online for all UNE faculty and staff!

For UNE Issued Computers and Devices

With Office 365 Online you can create and edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents online using your web browser. In addition, you also get supported services like OneDrive as announced on Monday the 21st and SharePoint announced on Wednesday the 23rd. 

For Personal Devices

You can now install the latest desktop version of Office across multiple personal devices, including PC’s, Macs, Android tablets, Android phones, iPad, and iPhone for free.


Q. Do I need to use Office 365 Online?

A. No. You can continue to use the version that is installed on your UNE workstation. This is just another option that is provided to you.

Q. What is Office 365 Online? How is it different from Microsoft Office?

A. Office 365 Online includes access to Office Online applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) plus other productivity services that are enabled over the Internet (cloud services), such as Lync, Outlook email, and online storage with OneDrive using a web browser.

For personal computers and devices the desktop version of the latest Office applications are available to install.

Q. Are there any differences between Office 365 Online and the desktop version installed on my UNE workstation?

A. Yes, there are slight differences, however, the basic functionality exists in the online version and the desktop version provides full functionality.
